CC wrote me with only this single link and the subject line was "good for at least a year". With 2385 freeware links to look through, this site will keep anyone busy for at least a year. Good call CC.

Quote from the website:

Welcome to Dubber's Computer Resources. Here you will find links in Computer Categories below that I think will be useful to you, especially if you are not too experienced with computers. Look around a little bit. You may find something that you didn't even know you were looking for.

and it's free!

Hitman Pro

Tip from CC, December 19, 2006

Quote from the website: Freeware tool Hitman Pro combines the best of both worlds to fight spyware.

Hitman Pro is a freeware tool that combines a number of powerful anti-spyware programs in one integrated solution. In nearly all anti-spyware reviews, the conclusion is that none of the anti-spyware programs removes all spyware. A combination of two programs is recommended.

This is exactly what Hitman Pro does: it combines Ad-Aware SE, SpyBot Search & Destroy, Spy Sweeper, Spyware Doctor, CWShredder, Spyware Blaster, NOD32, Sysclean package. Most of the included programs are freeware. Some of these programs are limited trial editions of commercial programs, and the user can decide to switch these off after the trial period.

Tip from CC, December 19, 2006

I like the color backgound change its easier on the eyes for some users that the background can be changed on a book reader.

Quote from the website:

I wrote this ebook reading software to provide a 'paper book' experience on the computer screen: For a start, you get two pages side-by-side instead of just one page in the middle of the screen. (Although I have just added a single-page mode which should suit tablet PCs in portrait mode) Next, the pages turn when you click them, just like a real book.

Web Design Toy

Tip from CC, December 12, 2006

This is a simple little program that is ideal for beginners.

Web Design Toy provides a deceptively simple split-window layout. Whatever HTML is typed in the editor window is instantly shown in web-page form in the display window. The result is an instant feedback learning tool - a perfect companion for any HTML course or tutorial.

LogMeIn Hamachi

Tip from CC, December 11, 2006

LogMeIn Hamachi is a zero-configuration virtual private networking (VPN) application. In other words Hamachi is a program that allows you to arrange multiple computers into their own secure network just as if they were connected by a physical network cable. Hamachi is fast, secure and simple. Its core version is also free.

Tip from CC, December 7, 2006

You say you are running out of material? What everyone is doing is re-writing their apps to be compatible with vista, and I venture to say that was once free will no longer be free ...

Quote: "Every feature and user interface element was designed to be immediately intuitive and quickly learnable without assistance. It is also designed to be immediately familiar to users of the original MS Paint software that comes with Windows."

This program is in its final stages of testing? They say that the final version will be Dec. 31 so far the beta versions have been free. It will give PhotoShop a run for its money. The latest version is compatible with anything out there free and shareware. The only thing is that it is time sensitive and you have to re- install to get the next version, its all automatic.

CleverKeys for Windows

Quote: "With CleverKeys for Windows you can look up words from almost any application, including Microsoft Word, Web browsers and e-mail programs. CleverKeys is easy to use and easy to install."

This is a oldie but goodie if you are still running all of those "free" office apps
