Sharing files too large for email

tip from ClifNotes, Jun 2006

Lata writes me with a question ...

I am trying several times to attach a movie file which is 224 MB with my google account. But it pops back saying error code 007. Can't I attach a movie file with gmail? Please help

Awaiting your kind response.

I wrote back ...

You can only send 10mb maximum through Gmail at a time. Most email services have a similar limit. If you really need to send it to someone, try http://www.dropload.com/ or a similar service.

And Lata responds ...

Dear Clif,

I tried yesterday and my file has been attached and sent. Thank you so much.

Nice day!

Later, Lata confirmed that she had used the service at yousendit.com to upload her movie. There are quite a few good services like that one and they can be a real life-saver when you need them.
