System Itty Bitty Process Manager - view and show others running processes on your pc
Many of you might be familiar with using CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up the Windows Task Manager so you can see what programs are running on your PC. This program does the same thing but it also allows you to copy the list of running programs into the Windows Clipboard or save it to a text file. That makes it easy for you to show others what you have running. You can just copy and paste the list into a chat room, a forum, a blog, or an email.
Website - Freeware
Quote from the website - Itty Bitty Process Manager (IBProcMan): A standalone version of the little process manager included in HijackThis (Misc Tools section). Shows full paths to processes, optionally shows DLLs loaded by processes. Can save the process list (and dll list) to file, as well as copy it to the clipboard. Compatible with at least Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP and newer.
Very useful for cleaning up systems infected with trojans or viruses that kill antivirus and antispyware programs.

Internet Lektora - browser plugin turns IE and FF into RSS newsreader
I've been looking for a good integrated newsreader for quite awhile now and I finally found one I can work with. Now I don't have to use a separate application for RSS feeds. Once I installed Lektora, all I have to do is click the Lektora button in my browser and a few seconds later I can see all the latest news from the many websites, blogs, and newsletters I like to read. When I want to add a new feed all I have to do is click the RSS button at a website and Lektora pops up to ask me if I want to add it to my current list of feeds. I think Lektora is great. No adware, no spyware, no signup, easy to install, and doesn't seem to overtax my limited resources. Grab a copy now, once Lektora is out of beta, they'll start charging money for it.
Website - Freeware (beta) - requires IE6 or FireFox 1.0
Quote from the website - Lektora is the RSS feed aggregator that integrates seamlessly with Firefox and Internet Explorer to enable easy reading of news feeds within the web browser. Offering an intuitive user interface and highly polished aesthetic, Lektora simplifies subscribing to, reading and managing web site news feeds, without sacrificing performance.

System Moveit - move installed applications to another hard drive
This program seems to work. I tried it out on an installed program I have. It was a program I wasn't planning on keeping, so I wasn't worried about losing it or messing it up. Moveit gave me an error message and said it couldn't move my files for me but I just skipped the error message and continued. Moveit scans all the registry looking for references to the program you want to move. It changes the registry entries so that you can run the program from the hard drive you've chosen. It took a long time for it to scan the registry. When Moveit was done I just copied the program I wanted to move to the area on the other hard drive where I wanted it to run. It's not trouble free but it did work.
Website - Freeware
Quote from the readme file - Having a lot of programs on your hard drive is a usual thing today, but someday such users certainly will face such problem as moving registered program from one place to another. It is a problem, because almost every program stores some data into registry (such as used file paths, for example), and you can't just move program folder from where it is to another location, because in 90% cases application will not run correctly anymore. So was before. Today MoveIT! will help you to solve this problem

System PC Wizard - what's in your PC?
Nice little utility like Belarc Advisor and Everest Home Edition. This program gives you detailed reports on all the hardware and drivers in your PC. It's able to generate reports in several formats so you can send it by email or post it in help forums.

Disks Snowbird Search - lighting fast file search utility
I've been using a file search program called Agent Ransack for almost two years now. I've finally found one that's got it matched for speed. Using this tool I can search my entire C: drive in seconds. Snowbird creates an html page on the fly as it searches then launches Internet Explorer to show it's results. That's very nice but doesn't let you manipulate the files with cut, copy, paste or sendto. On the other hand if I want to save a search result, all I have to do is save the search result html file somewhere. What's got me wondering is how in the world the author put all this power into a program that's only 20Kb in size. It literally downloaded in the blink of an eye. There is no installation needed. Just unzip it into a folder and run it.
Website - Freeware
Quote from the website - Snowbird is the latest in hard disk search technology - a lightning fast search program that can search for anything on your computer, including data inside files, and automatically categorize the results into Documents, Pictures, Audio, etc. It is intelligent enough to display exact and close matches before other matches, unlike Windows' built-in search that can sort only by name or date. The program is a tiny 20 KB ZIP that everyone can afford to download.

System Crucial System Scanner - what ram is on my pc?
I recently tried out the "Crucial System Scanner" at Crucial.com. It's an activeX application that determines which memory chips they think are compatible with your PC. Seems to work very nicely on my PC.

System Kill all processes - using a call to a system dll
I saw a neat tip in the Langa List newsletter. Just cut and paste the text below into a new shortcut. Name the shortcut anything you like. If you double click on it, it will kill all the PC's processes except for Explorer. This might come in handy just before you run a scandisk/chkdisk or defrag. Those sometimes get hung up when other things are running.

Website Help Newbie dot Org - a good place for help
I'm so glad there are lots of "Internet Free Zones" where you can find help for problems. This website is one of those in the best way. Some of the tutorials are a little out of date, but most of them are really great and would be good for anyone wishing to learn more about PC's and the internet. I like the forum which is under the "Help" link. You don't have to sign up for anything  and it looks pretty active so you may not have to wait long for an answer.
