Now that I’ve got the new computer settled down and running the way I want, I decided to experiment with a Linux distribution. Those of you who have been in a galaxy far, far away for the past fifteen years or so can read about Linux here.

Why? In a word, Windows. While there’s no real rush to change anything, since we’re running XP Pro (which will be supported by Micro$oft for at least five more years), eventually I will have to look at either buying a new machine or upgrading the operating system on our present one for some reason.
