I've seen wawadave in many security forums and he's well respected for his knowledge and abilities. I wonder what he thinks of this Remora security tool for USB flash drives?
Ok, this looked like a very useful program. It installed easily, but I only got as far as putting in the password. It would not accept copy paste from my password generator. So, I typed in the 94 bit password twice. Ok, went to use it again and it asks for the 94 bit password. It would not accept auto insert from my password safe. I'm trying and again would not copy paste.
So i completely uninstalled it and removed any tracks files etc. Reinstalled, then tried a short easy to remember password. It would not accept it. It said it was too long (but well with in it limits), so i shortened it. This time it accepted it. However, with security issues these days, I would not trust a 6 figure password.
I uninstalled it and called it a day. It's a shame I had these problems because with mobile data these days, this could be a great program. A 6 figure password would stop a casual hacker. Maybe thats why it doesn't use copy paste to some how stop dictionary attacks. Let's see what others have to say.
I'm afraid wawadave's problems are probably going to re-occur with other users. I found only one review at Download.com and the user said "little complicated to use". Based on these two peoples experience, I think I'll look around for a better program to do this job.
