Why Bother with Free Software

Just because it's free doesn't mean it's lousy.

By free I mean that the software has no spyware, no adware, no “free trial” time limits, no cutesy fluff to clutter your PC and your life. No kidding.

Some of the best software in the world will cost you nothing. The trouble is how to find it. I've been searching free software for years. This pursuit is an issue of equity and justice. We live in the Information Age, yet there is a large and growing chasm between the people who are the information "haves" and people who are the "have-nots."

What is on these pages is the best software I have found that will narrow the gap. People using these products will be able to compete technologically with those who have the latest payware offerings.
