Gmail Tip - forwarding email to a mixed group

Gmail doesn't allow you to easily add new contacts from your contact list when you are forwarding an email. You have to remember the names or at least part of their names and type them into the "To", "CC", or "BCC" boxes. Some services allow you to choose the contacts from your contact list by clicking on them before you send the email.

So, what can a Gmail user do about this problem?

I have discovered a way to do it and wanted to pass this along to you. Knowing how clever you are you most likely know this already, but in case you don't, here it is.

This can be done is several ways so just the premise is important.

  1. You read an e-mail that is needed to be be forwarded to many.
  2. Open a new e-mail via the contacts list.
  3. Select from the list who you want to send it to
  4. Select "Compose", the one directly about your list, not the one on the left column.
  5. Copy the list after all the needed contacts are in the "To" box
  6. Close the new email
  7. Open the email you need to forward
  8. Paste your contact list in your forward box of the e-mail that is to be forwarded.

Thanks Phil, I never really tried sending emails to more people than I could remember. I guess I've got a good memory or a small list of friends. LOL
