Every now and then, I'm forced to dig into the Windows Registry to either fix something or tweak something. I recently decided to remove some registry entries from a program that failed to have a good uninstaller with it. I figured it was a good time to try out a registry tool that was recommended by Jack Alexander. He told me he really likes this one.
The download and install were no problem. It fired up quickly and I was impressed with the speedy searches. In no time at all I'd located all the registry keys I needed to remove. This is a good registry tool and I'll keep it.
Vilma also has a short tutorial explaining what the registry is and how you can use it.
Vilma Registry Explorer is a powerful tool that will give to you the easiest way to rule all aspects of your system. You can create new keys and values, add them to the registry, or delete the existing ones.
You don't have to make a backup of all your actions as Registry Explorer does it in the background. If you decide that an action is not useful, or is wrong, just open the "Backup" window and restore the item by clicking over the record.
Importing and exporting data files is very easy. Registry Explorer has a new look. All tasks are running in the main window. No dialog boxes and pop-up windows.
The search system can find a matches in all registry types including the binary data. And it is an extremely fast.
The bookmarks support drag&drop and can be renamed. The help system is embedded inside the program, so it's use is much faster and easily.
There are quite a few video conversion tools out there. This one sounded good so I wanted to try it. The download went well, but after installation I had no luck at all getting it to run.
I even tracked down an older version of it at a French website. I still had no luck with it.
Conclusion:
Don't bother unless you want to figure out what I was doing wrong. Maybe I forgot to cross my fingers when I installed it.

That's fine. I don't have an iPod anyway but I did figure I could probably view the resulting file when it was done.
Conclusion:
It may work for some DVDs but not all of them. I can't complain about it. After all, it's free.

1. I’ve just changed my OS from Windows XP to Windows 2000 as I don't have the original XP cd. After formatting it, my computer screen Windows becomes smaller and I can't even resize it.

Thank you Matt. I tried out this service and this is an easy way to create icons. It's not only for creating favicons, it also creates the standard desktop icons. All that I had to do was upload an image and this website did the rest.
